MINNA, NIGER STATE — The Federal Government Independent Committee investigating the unfortunate incident at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Office has intensified its fact-finding efforts with a visit to the Niger State Police Command.
The committee, led by its Chairman, DDG Jonathan Kure, mni, fsi(+), Rtd., was received on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, by the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, mnips, at the State Police Headquarters, Dutsen-Kura, Minna.
The visit formed part of the committee’s ongoing investigative activities aimed at gathering relevant information and engaging key stakeholders who may provide valuable insights into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Speaking during the engagement, the Chairman appreciated the Commissioner of Police and the Command for the cooperation, support and assistance extended to the committee since the commencement of its assignment.
He explained that the visit was particularly aimed at interacting with the Police Command and obtaining additional information that could assist the committee in establishing the facts surrounding the incident.
In his response, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman expressed delight at receiving the committee and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to providing all necessary cooperation and support to facilitate the successful completion of the investigation.
The Commissioner also shared relevant observations and information concerning the incident with the committee for consideration as part of its ongoing fact-finding process.
The engagement further highlighted the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing security-related incidents and underscored the commitment of the relevant government authorities to a thorough, objective and fact-based investigation.
