By Mercy Eruaga

The Imo State Police Command has located the suspected camp where the prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members abducted in the state are being held, Commissioner of Police, Audu Bosso, has disclosed.

However, the rescue operation has been complicated by the discovery of explosives reportedly planted around the camp, raising fresh concerns over the safety of both the captives and the security personnel preparing to move in.

The police commissioner said operatives are working cautiously to secure the area and prevent the explosives from causing casualties as efforts intensify to rescue the abducted prospective corps members.

The development marks a critical breakthrough in the search for the victims, as security operatives race against time to bring them home safely.

Authorities have yet to disclose the exact location of the camp or provide details of the number of victims being held there, as the operation remains ongoing.

The incident has renewed concerns over the security of prospective corps members travelling to their places of deployment and the growing sophistication of criminal groups operating in parts of the country.
