Nigerian Army Announces Successful Candidates for Direct Short Service Commission 29/2026

The Nigerian Army has announced the list of successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, directing them to report for officer cadet training later this month.
In a public announcement, the Army said all successful candidates are expected to report for training at the **Officer Cadet Training Wing of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry in Jaji on Friday, March 27, 2026.
According to the Army, the full list of successful candidates has been published online on its official recruitment portal.
The Army also issued several guidelines for the candidates, directing them to report with essential items including writing materials, original academic and professional credentials, as well as a printout of their online application bearing passport photographs.
Candidates are further required to bring specific clothing items such as plain white round-neck vests, royal-blue shorts, white trainers, maroon vests, navy-blue track suits, white and blue long-sleeve shirts, black tie, black belt, black and white trousers, and a dark-coloured lounge suit.
Other required items include a rubber-strapped wristwatch, black cover shoes, swimming trunk, football boots, bed sheets, pillowcases, blanket, and a pressing iron.
Female candidates were also instructed to come with additional items including a pair of black low-heel cover shoes, four dark-coloured lounge skirts, four pairs of tight shorts (black or blue), and two trouser suits.
The Army noted that serving military personnel who were successful in the selection process must report with their official release letters and passes from their respective commanders or commanding officers.
It warned that candidates who fail to report on the specified date will automatically forfeit their slots to those on the reserve list.
The Army also clarified that reserve candidates should not report to the training school unless officially contacted, noting that vacancies for reserve candidates will only be available until April 20, 2026.
Interested members of the public and applicants are advised to check the Army’s recruitment website to confirm the list of successful candidates.
