PTD, FRSC Officers Hold Farewell Parade for Rivers Sector Commander Iyang Umoh.
Members of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers
(PTD) unit of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), alongside officers, marshals and Special Marshals of Unit 2 Eleme (RS6.11) of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), organized a farewell parade in honour of the outgoing Rivers State Sector Commander, Iyang Umoh.
The event, which was led by Engr. Emmanuel Umuren, brought together officers, marshals and members of the PTD union who gathered to celebrate the remarkable service and leadership demonstrated by Commander Umoh during his tenure in Rivers State.
During the ceremony, speakers described the outgoing Sector Commander as an excellent officer and a great achiever whose dedication, professionalism and commitment significantly strengthened road safety operations in the state. They noted that his leadership fostered stronger collaboration between the FRSC, petroleum tanker drivers and other road users, thereby improving safety awareness and operational effectiveness.
Representatives of PTD NUPENG and the Special Marshals Unit 2 Eleme expressed deep appreciation for the cordial working relationship they enjoyed with Commander Umoh, describing him as a supportive leader who maintained open communication with stakeholders.
They also offered prayers for God’s guidance, protection and greater success for him as he proceeds to the next phase of his career and life.
“Though you leave as a commander, you will always remain a friend of the Eleme Unit and PTD NUPENG,” one of the speakers said during the farewell ceremony.
The event concluded with goodwill messages and prayers for a safe journey as Commander Umoh departs for his next assignment.
