Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has appealed to residents of the state to vote wisely in the August 15 governorship election, warning against what he described as a return to the era when civil servants received half salaries.

Adeleke made the appeal while addressing supporters during his campaign, urging the electorate to protect the gains achieved under his administration by rejecting any attempt to reverse the progress recorded in workers' welfare and governance.

According to the governor, his administration has prioritised the payment of workers' salaries, pensions and other welfare packages, stressing that public servants deserve to receive their full entitlements without delay.

He maintained that the forthcoming election presents an opportunity for the people of Osun State to choose between sustaining the current developmental strides and returning to policies that, according to him, negatively affected the livelihoods of many workers and retirees.

The governor assured civil servants, pensioners, youths and other residents that his administration would continue to implement people-centred policies aimed at improving infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development across the state.

Adeleke urged eligible voters to come out peacefully on election day, exercise their civic responsibility and resist every form of intimidation or vote-buying.

He expressed confidence that the people of Osun would make the right decision at the polls, adding that their votes would determine the future direction of the state.

As political campaigns intensify ahead of the August 15 governorship election, all eyes remain on Osun State, where the major political parties are making final efforts to convince voters to support their candidates.

The election is expected to be closely contested, with stakeholders and election observers calling for a peaceful, free and credible electoral process.
