President Bola Tinubu has put forth the nomination of Dr. Olayemi Michael Cardoso as the prospective Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for an initial tenure of five years. This recommendation awaits the confirmation of the Nigerian Senate. In alignment with Section 8 (1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, the President of Nigeria has the mandate to appoint both the Governor and four Deputy Governors for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). However, these nominations are subject to the affirmation of the Nigerian Senate. ... 2.1 Million Beneficiaries  Already Captured The World Food Programme, WFP, has pledged to support President Tinubu’s Zero Hunger Programme under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested and detained the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria in charge of Financial System Stability, Aishah Ahmad.
