NUPENG Delegation Attends IndustriALL Regional Conference in Accra, Ghana
Accra, Ghana – September 2, 2025
The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has joined other global labor leaders in Accra, Ghana, for the IndustriALL Global Union Regional Executive Meetings and Conference, a significant gathering that brings together trade unionists from across Africa to deliberate on workers’ rights, industry challenges, and the future of labor relations.
Leading the Nigerian delegation is the National Executive President of NUPENG, Comrade (Prince) Williams Akporeha, whose presence underscores the Union’s commitment to active participation in international labor dialogues and policy-shaping platforms.
Joining him on the delegation are Comrade Omotayo Olayemi Tinuade, Secretary of the NUPENG National Women Committee, and Comrade Amodu Oluwasegun Oluwatobiloba, Vice Chairperson of the NUPENG National Youth Council. Their inclusion highlights NUPENG’s dedication to ensuring that women and youth voices are represented in critical conversations about labor rights, social justice, and sustainable industrial growth.
The conference provides a vital opportunity for African trade unions to exchange ideas, share strategies, and strengthen solidarity in tackling issues affecting workers in the petroleum and broader industrial sectors. It also serves as a platform for advocating fair working conditions, gender equality, youth inclusion, and policies that protect workers in a rapidly changing economic landscape.
By participating in this regional meeting, NUPENG reinforces its role as a strong advocate for Nigerian workers on the global stage, while also building bridges of collaboration with fellow unions across Africa and beyond.
